Wildflowers Huswife
Summer House Stitch Workes
Friday and Saturday August 4th & 5th
Join us Friday and Saturday August 4th and 5th, 2023 for the Huswife Companion to Wildflowers from Beth at Summer House Stitche Workes.
If you’ve ever had a workshop with Beth, I’m preaching to the choir! But if this will be your first, you will absolutely love the experience. Beth is a wonderful teacher and you always walk out of class having learned something new and feeling accomplished. You usually have a finished item to take with you and show off!
Here’s a word from Beth: A combination of counted cross stitch and free form embroidery (pre-stitch & class) create the feel of a gentle breeze flowing through the wildflowers that populate the front bottom of the folded huswife. The top flap is enhanced by a pattern of pulled stitches (class), stitched on contrasting linen that allow the underlying quilting cotton to peek through. The flap and bottom front are combined by tying hand-dyed twill tape through a buttonhole-stitch embellished ring. The reverse side of the closed huswife features the stitcher’s initials and date (pre-stitch), stitched on linen and then affixed to the quilt cotton. (class) The interior of the huswife features more buttonhole-stitched rings to hold floss and strips of wool blend felt for needle storage, all appliqued onto a coordinating quilting cotton using various stitches. (class)
Cost of the workshop includes your kit, Friday afternoon class, optional Stitch-In on Friday Night with pizza from Blue Mountain Pizza, and Saturday full day class, and lunch on Saturday. $175.
You may register now online via our website at www.sassyjacksstitchery.com. You’ll see a link on our home page, and you’ll find a link in the workshop section as well. You can also send me an email at sjsclasses@gmail.com if you’d like me to call you so you can register over the phone. Payment in full is due at registration. No refunds will be available after registration as we need to cover all the costs related to the workshop. We will, however, mail you a kit if you find yourself unable to attend.
This workshop has a small amount of pre-stitch you can do. We’ll ship that kit to you upon your registration. Be sure to bring it with you to the workshop.
Class will be held at the Fairfield Inn in Weaverville, NC. Address: 25 Fairfield Approach Dr, Weaverville, NC 28787, Phone: (828) 645-9000. You are free to book your accommodations wherever you wish. Please have a look at our accommodations page under the workshops tab of our website for some suggestions. Additionally, there are some wonderful Air BnB options in and around Weaverville.
Now… for the big news… you’ll be the first class hosted since we reopen our brick and mortar in our new home (fingers crossed). We’re pushing really hard to make it happen. I should have more news for you in a week or so on that. If we make it, you can rest assured your weekend with us will be super special.  Not to mention that August 3rd (Thursday before class) is my double nickle birthday!!
I really hope you can join us. I am so very excited for this workshop!!
