Lucretia Dibble

Needlemade Designs

Lucretia is a reproduction of an early Connecticut sampler. She was born in Torringford (now Torrington) Conneticut, the town her grandfather had carved out of the forest and a bit of her family imformation is included in the chart.

Lucretia worked her sampler at the age of 13 on homespun linen with cross stitch, cross stitch over one, satin stitch, Algerian eyelet stitch, marking stitch, and Queen stitch worked horizontally. Full stitch diagrams are included for all specialty stitches. If you are looking for a chart to use in a basic sampler stitches class for your shop, Lucretia would be a great choice.

Stitch count: 96 x 89

The model was stitched on  Gray linen from Weeks Dye Works.

The treads used are all from the Gentle Art: Apple Cider, Black Licorice, Brethren Blue, Picnic Basket, and Wood Trail
