Description

From the designer, Sharon Huffstettler:

Fifteen-year-old Jane completed her sweet English sampler in 1826, the sixth year of the reign of King George IV. Her sampler makes used of beautiful teal blues and greens and is a typical English sampler of this time period.

You will receive a printed booklet which includes instructions, chart, color legend, and stitch count. The color legend includes DMC, Soie d’Alger, and a conversion to silk overdyed threads by Gloriana and Dinky Dyes. The model was stitched on 40 ct Patriots Brew linen by R&R with overdyed silks. Stitches used are cross stitch over 2 and cross stitch over 1.

The verse on the original sampler (and model) was stitched with cross stitch over one thread. Included in the chart is a graph of the entire verse over one thread as well as a graph for a shortened version of the verse that is stitched over two threads for those who do not wish to stitch cross stitch over one thread.

Stitch Count: 130 W x 127 H

If stitched on 40 ct linen, this sampler will measure 6.5 x 6.4 inches
