Christian Henry 1816 is a fun and wonderful new reproduction sampler from Sassafras Samplers. It’s a Scottish Sampler with gorgeous red and green alphabets on the top, and a fun and fanciful spot motif area on the bottom. Christian used lots of beautiful colors in the spot motif area, lending a bit of whimsy to the sampler.
We hope you love Christian as much as we do. It’s a fun and manageable stitch, with mostly cross stitch, and complimented with a row of eyelets, and a row of herringbone in the alphabet area. You’ll also find some motifs in the spot motif area, along with a band of chain stitch separating the name from the body of the sampler.
You’ll find some tutorials for these stitches on our YonderWays YouTube channel if you need a bit of help, but our stitch diagrams included in the chart will likely get you off on the right foot.
This sweet chart was a gift to our 2020 Soiree attendees, and we loved it so much, we wanted everyone to have a chance to own it.
We charted Christian with Needlepoint Inc (NPI) Silks and converted to DMC. To get the closest color match to the original, we recommend using the NPI silks.
The closest fabric match to the original is Straw from WDW on a Zweigart base.
