About Us

Sassy Jacks StitcherySassy Jacks Stitchery is a vibrant young needlework shop with an online presence at www.sassyjacksstitchery.com.  Sassy Jacks was founded in 2014 to meet the need of the local needlework community in the Cary/Raleigh area, after losing several of our local needlework shops. I LOVE Needlework and handcrafts, and I sincerely want this industry to be alive and well for all of our future generations. I want to pass this love and craft to anyone and everyone who will pause long enough for me to place a needle and thread in their hand!

Sassy Jacks Stitchery provides a wide selection of charts and supplies for cross stitch, needlepoint, punch needle, and hand embroidery.

We offer charts and kits from your favorite designers, including Plum Street Samplers, Hands Across The Sea Samplers, Summer House Stitche Workes, Hands On Design, With Thy Needle and Thread, Blackbird Designs, Lizzie Kate, Just Nan, Rosewood Manor, Mirabilia, Heartstring Samplery, and Victoria Sampler, to name just a fraction of the creative minds contributing to our stock!

Sassy Jacks StitcherySassy Jacks carries a great selection of fabric, including Zweigart, Weeks Dye Works, Legacy Linen, Silk Weavers, Picture This Plus, Lakeside Linens, Hand Dyed By Stephanie and much more. You’ll find beautiful colors in various counts for both Aida and Linen. Our Linen and Aida is available in Fat Quarter, Half Yard, and One Yard sizes. We also offer a fantastic stock of Wool by Weeks Dye Works. Our Wool is offered in Fat Quarter, Fat Eighth, and “Sassy Smalls”. The Sassy Small measures about 8 x 8 with some variation depending on how the original cut arrives from Weeks, as they sometimes vary slightly.

And we are one of very few shops to offer a beautiful selection of German Banding from the looms of Vaupel and Heilenbeck.  The wonderful linen banding is sold in half yard and one yard lengths and you will want to come visit us to see and touch this wonderful fabric.

Sassy Jacks StitcheryPunch Needle is a favorite new craft for many of us, with origins dating back to the 1700s or earlier. Many designs harken to a more primitive folk art era reminiscent of our colonial roots, while some are fresh and contemporary. Sassy Jacks offers Weavers Cloth for our Punch Needle folk in many beautiful colors, as well as several neutral shades. My favorite punch needle fabric is from Weeks Dye Works… I love the soft feel and the colors are wonderful. And if you’re looking for some great designs to treat yourself with, check out Notforgotten Farms, Teresa Kogut, or Threads That Bind, or browse through our Punch Needle Product Category. We love Punch Needle and hope you will too!

And fibers… there are so many colors and so little time. We offer Weeks Dye Works (6-ply, 2-ply and 3-ply), The Gentle Art, Classic Colorworks, Ship’s Manor, DMC, AVS, NPI, Caron Collection Watercolours and more.

We recently closed our brick and mortar on Main Street in Weaverville given the sharp increase in COVID 19 infections in the local area.  We expect to reopen in June 2023,  in our Forever Home at The Baird House at 446 Weaverville Road, Asheville, NC  28804.  During this transitionary time, you can still find us on the web at www.sassyjacksstitchery.com and by phone at 828-785-4405 and email at sassyjacksstitchery@gmail.com. We ship USPS (US Postal Service) to save you postage, and most in stock items go out the day after order, finding their way into your hands within three mailing days (pending postal service, of course).

We’ve been diligently working on the rehabilitation of our future permanent home over the last three years.   Our ultimate brick and mortar home will be the historic Baird House in Asheville, NC (National Listing of Historic Sites). The Baird House is a beautiful old Folk Victorian, and sits in the town of Woodfin in the North Asheville area, only a few miles away from our current location in Weaverville, NC. It was built in 1878 by Zebulon H. Baird and remained in the Baird family until 2006.  It will be a fabulous home for Sassy Jacks Stitchery.
