Ann Leigh 1835 – Mill on the Floss

Ann is a really pretty sampler, stitched on the Channel Island of Jersey which lies just off the coast of France close to my home.  So although she is British, I could almost touch her from here!

Ann used a palette of 19 colours and stitched her original on loose weave linen, close to 28ct with crewel wool.  The original sampler measures around 25″ square, so the model has been stitched on 40ct, Zweigart in Summer Khaki in AVAS.
